Daniel's Story

Daniel
Age 7
Cystic Fibrosis

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

When Daniel was only 18 months old he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that causes lung infections and impaired digestion. This lifelong disease has caused Daniel to be pricked with a needle more times than he wishes. Although he is only 7 years old, Daniel is one tough cookie.

“Daniel has spent many weeks at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and has really grown to enjoy going there, which most children would not, considering what they are up against,” said his mom. “We have grown attached to the staff there and also know a few outside of the hospital as well. We are so very thankful.”

While he will continue receiving vest therapy treatments for the rest of his life, Daniel is just enjoying being a kid. He loves dinosaurs and dressing up like any superhero. He is a friend to all, especially girls, and usually sparks the conversation with “what’s up” and a wink.
